This Department has the responsibility for the union's involvement in Federal legislative and does the planning and preparation for CWA's annual Legislative/Political Conference.  It is also responsible for updating the CWA Legislative/Political Web site.

Responsibilities include handling legislative issues before the U.S. Congress and lobbying on behalf of the union's membership.  It prepares position papers on Federal legislative issues and works with the CWA Districts on generating grassroots membership contacts with elected officials.  It prepares the annual "CWA Guide to the Congress" and the CWA Right-Wrong Voting Guide."
